American journalist Al Roker has successfully marked his place as a veteran news anchor and weather forecaster. The 65-year-old television personality is currently working as a weather anchor on NBC’s Today.

Off the set, he is relishing a blissful married life with his wife, which is something that one wishes to have in their life.

The talented presenter Al Roker has been married to the ABC News seasoned reporter, Deborah Roberts, for almost two and a half-decade. The happily married duo got married on 16 September 1995 at the St. Thomas Episcopal Church in New York.

The couple exchanged the wedding vows in front of their friends and family. Rudy Giuliani, Barbara Walters, and Katie Couric were some of the attendees.

Al and his wife Deborah welcomed their first child, Leila Ruth on 17 November 1998. Four years later, in 2002, Deborah gave birth to their son Nicholas Albert (Nick) who has special needs. Well, parenthood was not new to Al as he already had a daughter named Courtney from his marriage with his then-wife, Alice Roker.

Currently, the duo is living on the Upper East Side of New York City with their children; Courtney (age 30), Leila (age 19), and Nick (age 15).

Throughout the twenty-four-years of married life, the duo has always been vocal about the ups and downs of their marriage. With the life lessons they've learned around the way, they have been making their relationship healthy and beautiful.

How Did They Meet?

It was 1990 when Al met the love of his life. However, neither of them knew that they would fall in love and would get married someday.

On the day when Deborah joined NBC as a general-assignment reporter, Al took her for lunch. Recalling the moment with People, Deborah said that Al talked about his family and showed some pictures of his daughter.

Meanwhile, Deborah was transferred to Miami, Atlanta, and then to New York to work for Dateline NBC as a correspondent. By that time, Al had already parted ways with his ex-wife, Alice.

In the next few years, that couple had already fallen in love with each other. And on the occasion of New Year in 1994, Al proposed Deborah on the rim of the Grand Canyon.

He continued,

“In the last three months, my left hip has been deteriorating and I decided, let me go get it taken care of.”
