Jodie and her husband met at a drama school and soon fell in love. After dating for a while, the duo decided to get married. They exchanged the vows in a grand wedding ceremony in Arizona in November 2008. In an interview with The Independent in 2011, she admitted to having an ‘attention-seeking’ wedding. She said,
“I’m married to Christian - have been for two years - a fact that is probably on Wikipedia anyway. And I’m not going to deny I’m married, I wear a bloody wedding ring after all.”
“We had a big wedding in Arizona - very attention-seeking, big dress, big guest-list kind of wedding. It was obviously in my top five days…”
The couple has been married for more than a decade and are parents to a daughter. They welcomed their bundle of joy in April 2015.

Jodie was born to father Adrian Whittaker and mother Yvonne Whittaker in 1982. She has her birthday on 17 June. Jodie has one brother named Christian as her sibling.
